Commonwealth Construction - Strategic Planning

Commonwealth is a full-service industrial construction company providing a comprehensive range of innovative project development, management, and construction services to customers worldwide in the resource development, processing and manufacturing industries. Founded in 1907, it was a major player in the development of the infrastructure in Western Canada. In the 1950s, this civil contracting expertise was expanded to include mining, forestry and other heavy industrial facilities in both Canada and internationally. Again in the 1970s and 1980s, expertise grew when the company expanded into petrochemical plants, airport facilities, railways and related civil works. At the same time the scope of services expanded to include full design-build, engineering, procurement and construction.

White Tiger was retained to facilitate the company's Executive Team in developing a comprehensive Strategic Plan to position itself as a premier player within the Albertal Oil Sands.


Sierra Wireless - Strategic Planning

Founded in 1993 in Vancouver, Canada, Sierra Wireless was instrumental in developing some of the first wireless data devices for cellular networks and continues to deliver reliable, high quality wireless solutions to customers worldwide. The company has offices located in Richmond, B.C., Carlsbad, California, London, England and Hong Kong and has been recognized as one of Canada’s fastest growing technology companies. In May 1999, Sierra Wireless became a publicly traded company on the Toronto Stock Exchange. In May 2000, Sierra Wireless was co-listed on the NASDAQ Exchange. Stock symbols are TSX: SW and NASDAQ: SWIR.

White Tiger was retained to advise the Executive Team as it continues to update and improve its Strategic Planning Process.


Canlan Ice Sports Corp.  -  Enterprise Planning

Canlan Ice Sports is the world leader in ice sports facility ownership, operations and programming and is the largest private sector owner and operator of recreational ice sports facilities in the world. It currently owns and manages 20 facilities with 56 sheets of ice in Canada and the United States. The flagship facility is the world's largest recreational ice rink facility, Burnaby 8 Rinks in British Columbia, Canada. One of the premier brands of its portfolio of programs is the Adult "Safe-Hockey" League, the largest adult recreational hockey league in North America, with over 36,000 players.

White Tiger was retained to engage all key stakeholders in the organization in a National Enterprise Planning program to provide an honest introspection of strengths and weaknesses through the prism of change management in support of continued successful future growth.


Deeley Harley-Davidson - Enterprise Planning

Deeley Harley-Davidson is the exclusive Canadian distributor for Harley-Davison and Buell motorcycles, parts and accessories and branded products and related services which are provided through a national network of authorized Harley-Davidson and Buell retailers.

White Tiger was engaged to work with Deeley Harley-Davidson facilitating Enterprise Planning as it sought to transition from a "family owned culture and brand" to more formalized management practices and processes. We conducted several nationally focused reviews and processes engaging diverse representation throughout the company in order to identify specific initiatives for reinvestment and to prepare the organization for positive change.


Urban Barn - Enterprise Planning

Urban Barn first opened its doors in British Columbia in 1990. Today it's retail stores are a mix of urban walk by stores and larger suburban destination locations with currently 20 plus stores stretching from beautiful Victoria BC to vibrant downtown Toronto which offer  creative pieces of high quality and value, from the newest trends to tried and true classics sourced from around the world.

White Tiger was engaged to work with Urban Barn facilitating Enterprise Planning as it transitions from an "Entrepreneurial" culture to more formalized management practices and processes. We conducted a comprehensive review throughout the company in order to identify specific initiatives for reinvestment and to prepare the organization for positive change.


Deeley Harley-Davidson - Warehouse and Distribution Analysis

Deeley Harley-Davidson is the exclusive Canadian distributor for Harley-Davison and Buell motorcycles, parts and accessories and branded products and related services which are provided through a national network of authorized Harley-Davidson and Buell retailers.

White Tiger was engaged to conduct a review and analysis of the national warehouse and distribution centre in preparation for continued evolution towards increased effeciencies and greater effectiveness as this group transistions towards extended excellence within it's capability maturity model.

White Tiger was engaged to conduct a national review of the National Distribution Network and an indepth analysis of Warehouse Operations, with recommendations for execution optimization.

Great Canadian Gaming - IT Strategy Planning

Great Canadian Gaming Corporation is the largest gaming company in Canada, with over 5000 employees and owns and manages first class gaming entertainment properties including Casino's and Horse Race Tracks across Canada and the United States.

White Tiger was retained to assess the readiness of the IT function to meet the organizations needs, and engage key stakeholders in the development of a Strategic IT Planning process.


Cognos Incorporated - IT Strategy Planning

Cognos is the world leader in business intelligence (BI) and performance planning software for the enterprise.

Founded in 1969, Cognos employs over 3,500 people and serves more than 23,000 customers in over 135 countries. Cognos customers are involved in every industry sector including automotive, banking and insurance, energy and natural resources, government, healthcare, manufacturing, and pharmaceuticals.

White Tiger was retained to assist and facilitate the company's Executive Team as a "Change Management Agent" as it develops a comprehensive Information Technology Plan leveraging Organizational Visioning; Business Alignment; and Governance.

Canfor - Tactical Planning

Canfor is a leading integrated forest products company based in Vancouver, British Columbia. The company is the largest producer of softwood lumber and one of the largest producers of northern softwood kraft pulp in Canada. Canfor also produces kraft paper, plywood, remanufactured lumber products, oriented strand board (OSB), hardboard paneling and a range of specialized wood products, including baled fibre and fibre mat at 30 facilities located in BC, Alberta and Quebec. Through its operations, affiliated companies and contractors, Canfor employs approximately 9,700 people.

White Tiger was retained to assist one of Canfor's corporate divisions in developing a tactical program with which to transition from a very technical and cost centric division into one which would tranform the organization into a client responsive, value added key partner to the operational divisions.


BC Children's Hospital Foundation - Tactical Planning

Since 1982, BC Children's Hospital Foundation has raised money to support the work of BC Children's Hospital, the province’s only pediatric acute care hospital. Funds raised help pay for essentials such as equipment, research and education, benefiting the over 67,000 young patients from across British Columbia who depend on the Hospital each year. BC Children's Hospital Foundation continues the tradition upon which it was founded providing financial support to BC Children’s Hospital, Sunny Hill Health Centre and the Child & Family Research Institute.

White Tiger was retained to advise and facilitate the organization through a comprehensive Donations Management Strategy Planning process. 


Terasen Gas - Executive Mentoring

Terasen Gas delivers natural gas and piped propane to homes and businesses throughout BC to approximately 900,000 customers in 125 communities, Terasen Gas provides service to 95 per cent of BC's natural gas customers and is the third largest utility in Canada and is a subsidiary of Kinder Morgan, Inc. (NYSE: KMI), one of the largest energy transportation, storage and distribution companies in North America.

White Tiger was retained to assist in developing a mentoring program for personal and professional development for several key executives. Our focus was on creating a results oriented program which reviewed core competencies and developed new skill sets in order to create effective manangement practices and to prepare for new corporate responsibilities.


Canfor - Executive Mentoring

Through its operations, affiliated companies and contractors, Canfor employs approximately 9,700 people.

White Tiger was retained to deliver a mentoring program for personal and professional development for a Corporate Executive. Our focus was on creating a results oriented program which reviewed core competencies and developed new skill sets in order to create effective manangement practices and to enhance his organizational optimization.


Canfor - Capital Expenditure Analysis

Canfor is a leading integrated forest products company based in Vancouver, British Columbia. The company is the largest producer of softwood lumber and one of the largest producers of northern softwood kraft pulp in Canada. Canfor also produces kraft paper, plywood, remanufactured lumber products, oriented strand board (OSB), hardboard paneling and a range of specialized wood products, including baled fibre and fibre mat at 30 facilities located in BC, Alberta and Quebec. Through its operations, affiliated companies and contractors, Canfor employs approximately 9,700 people.

White Tiger was retained to assist one of Canfor's corporate divisions in analyzing and developing a capital expenditure program for a major mission critical project. Our focus was on transistioning a very technical and financially oriented process into one which the executive management team would respond to based upon the tactical business issues related to and integrated with the companies strategic plan.


Autostock - Franchise Billing Analysis

With over 2500 operations in 27 countries worldwide, Autostock International is recognized as a major player in the Automotive Replacement Glass business as a manufacturer, distributor, retailer, and franchisor. Retail sales in North America are achieved through corporate-owned and franchised Speedy Auto & Window Glass retail outlets; Apple Auto Glass outlets; and NOVUS Windshield Repair & Replacement operations. Distribution of glass products is handled through Autostock Distribution, while centralized call centres direct insurance claims to retail services in the customer's local area. Internationally, NOVUS maintains over 2200 operations in 27 countries, including 492 NOVUS franchisees in North America. Eurostock distributes replacement auto glass in the Netherlands.

Autostock engaged White Tiger to analyse and develop documented requirements for franchise billing. Our purpose in doing this was to clarify, articulate and confirm the assumptions, expectations and benefit/costs of the proposed project in preparation for solution development.

With over 2500 operations in 27 countries worldwide, Autostock International is recognized as a major player in the Automotive Replacement Glass business as a manufacturer, distributor, retailer, and franchisor. White Tiger was retained to review current Fleet Management practices. We identified discrepancies in the overall business practices and recommend encompassing new best business practices.


Canadian Automobile Association - Business Case Development

CAA is a federation of 9 automotive clubs serving 4.7 million members through 130 offices across Canada. CAA provides a wide range of member services and works to improve traveling and motoring conditions at home and around the world.

White Tiger was retained to facilitate the development of a business case with respect to  investment and expansion in a new national business model for a mission critical vertical which will represent a new paradigm shift within its business sector.


ICBC - Executive Seminars

The Insurance Corporation of British Columbia (ICBC) is a provincial Crown corporation established in 1973 to provide universal auto insurance to BC motorists. In addition, the Corporation is responsible for driver licensing, vehicle registration and licensing. All motorists in BC are required to buy a basic package of ICBC Autoplan insurance that provides coverage for third party legal liability protection, accident benefits, underinsured motorist protection, hit-and-run and uninsured motorists protection and inverse liability.

In addition to providing this basic insurance, the Corporation competes with other automobile insurance companies by offering extended third-party legal liability and other optional insurance coverage such as collision and comprehensive coverage.

White Tiger was retained to deliver a series of Executive Advisory Seminars to key members of the Executive Team in support of new "out-of-the-box" critical thinking processes.
